Guiyuanchan Temple is located in west of Cuiwei Road, Hanyang District, Wuhan City, it is also named Guiyuan Temple. Listed as one of the four temples of Wuhan together with Baotong Temple, Xilian Temple and Zhengjue Temple, it is a foremost protected monument in Hubei province.
Guiyuanchan Temple has over 200 palaces and consists of three yards, north yard, middle yard and south yard. Flanked by Drum Tower, Daxiong Palace is located in the center, and then Weituo Palace.
With Sutra Depository as its main building, it has stone steles from North Wei dynasty, Buddhist statues, and rare musical instruments in Buddhist ceremonies, paintings, etc on the first floor, there are over 7000 sutras on the second floor.
The 500 arhats are vivid and various in shape. It is said that you count the arhat and stop at the number of your age, that particular arhat could show your fortune. It becomes an interesting activity of visitors.

Wuhan falls within subtropical humid monsoonal climate with clear seasons and abundant rainfall. The summer is muggy and hot, the temperature will be above 40 ℃ for over a dozen days, the winter is cold and humid. So the best travel time is spring and autumn, that is March to April, and September to October.
Normally on important holidays, people will pray and burn incense in Guiyuan Temple and people says that if his wish comes true, he has to redeem the vow.
