Taoran pavilion was built by Jiang Zao, a high ranking official of Qing dynasty. The park got its current name by this pavilion. The plaque with the Chinese characters “Taoran” hanging under the gate is Jiang Zao’s genuine work. |

Taoran Pavilion Park is located in the south of Beijing's Xuanwu District. It covers an area of 59 hectares including 17 hectares water surface .The park was built in 1952.It is the first modern landscape garden after the foundation of the P.R.C. The famous Taoran Pavilion and Cibei Temple are located in the park. The beautiful sceneries, cultural connotation and brilliant history of revolution make it a resort for tour.
