| Short Description: | There are three wonders of art in Ta Er Lamasery, Ghi Flower (Chinese Non-material Cultural Relics), fresco and Dui Embroidery. Ghi Flower is the statue of Buddhist, people, animals, plants, pavilions and religious stories made of ghi, they are vivid and exquisite. Fresco is the painting in the wall, or on the cloth, the dye is made of Stone element, they are bright and do not fade. Dui Embroidery is a unique Tibetan Art, first cut the silk into different shapes, such as Buddhist, people, flower, beasts, stuff wool or cotton in it, and sew it on the cloth. Ta Er Lamasery is an important Tibetan monastery located about 27km southeast of Xining. The lamasery was built in 1560AD as a tribute to Tsong Khapa who founded the Yellow Hat Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Approximately 750 monks live at the lamasery, which has an area of 40 hectares. Han and Tibetan arts can be viewed at the lamasery.
A guided tour of the monastery will take you through rooms such as the Great Temple of Golden Tile, the Lesser Temple of Golden Tile, the Great Meditation Hall, the Nine Room Hall, and the Hall of Butter Sculpture. Ta Er is also known by the Tibetan name Kumbum, which means 100,000 roaring Buddhas.

Go around: take bus or medium bus at Xiaoximen Bus Station, it leaves every 30 minutes, and stop at 18:00, the fare is 4 RMB per person.

- 1.Respect the custom of Buddhist. Do not photograph, do not touch the sutra, Buddhist Statue, etc.
- 2.Do not touch the head and hat of Tibetan.

The summer (May to October) is cool, there are many rape flowers near Qinghai Lake in July, the view of yellow flower sea and endless lake is fantastic, and the temperature is lower than 18 ℃. The bank of the lake is the best place to make a tent.
