The Jiumenkou Great Wall, is 15 kilometers from the Shanhaiguan Pass, is an important scenic spot in Jinxi. Jiumenkou, named Yipianshi in the ancient times, which was one of the main passes of the Great Wall built in the Ming Dynasty. After the wall here was built, this place was named Jiumenkou instead of Yipianshi and became a strategic pass. In Wanli's fifth year of the Ming dynasty, First Pass East of Beijing, compared to First Pass under Heaven, was inscribed on a horizontal board above the west gate as a result of the significance and inaccessibility of the pass. This pass possessed unique charms throughout the Great Wall because of its nine majestic gates across the Jiujiang River, for the Great Wall in the other places was discontinued wherever there was a lofty peak or a large river, which could hold up the enemy. Being a vital communication pass, it was contested by all strategists. The famous “Great Yipianshi Battle” took place right here between Li Zicheng and Wu San’gui at the end of the Ming dynasty. Force from Liaoning and Hebei fought here during the War of Liberation. Battlefield anecdotes made the Jiumenkou Great Wall more famous.

- Go around: Take coach at Suizhong to Lijiabao and then go there on foot. The course is about 1 kilometer. The shift is once in each day. Departure time is 12:00 and time of come back is 6:00 of next day.
- Get in: It is 15 kilometers from Great Wall to Shanhaiguan pass. In rush season of summer, there are minibuses from Shanhaiguan Pass to Jiumenkou, but in low season, you have to charter vehicles, and the fare of taxi is about 30 RMB.
