[edit] Where is my personal page?

Your personal page is a page about yourself. Through personal page, you can share your information with the rest of the ChinaTravelGuide community.

You can find your personal page after you have created an account or logged in by clicking your username in the box to the right of the page. From there, click the "Edit" tab to update it.

[edit] What do I put in my personal page?

You can put whatever content you want in your own page (as long as you follow the Term of Use Agreement). You can design your page using your favorite layout, color, etc. using wikitext. But generally you may want to include the following:

1. Basic information:

  • Real Name
  • Introduction
  • Location
  • A Photo
  • A Video

2. Additional information:

  • Hobby & Interests
  • Web presence (web sites, FaceBook, MySpace, etc.)
  • People you are affiliated with (affinities)

3. Links:

  • List of articles and other things you are working on
  • What are you involved in?
  • Internal social networking
  • Contact information (through talk page, email, phone?)

On your personal page, a User contributions link to your contributions appears in the toolbox in the left sidebar.

[edit] How am I doing?

  • In the near future, we will develop a way to for you to accumulate your points and let other community members judge your level.
  • Use the personal page to develop new ideas about ChinaTravelGuide, or for putting together a "toolbox" of frequently-needed text and Wiki markup.
  • Create tools, brag rags, new article brainstorming, and to-do list.
  • Help people learn wiki skills
