Panmen Gate stands at the southwestern corner of the ancient city of Suzhou, has many palaces of interests and scenery of humanities. With a history of 2,500 years, this city gate is the most completely preserved part of the ruins of the ancient city of Suzhou. Panmen Gate was initially constructed in the first year of the reign of He Lu, King of Wu. Although it has been renovated and rebuilt many times through the ages, its location has never changed an inch. The present Panmen Gate was rebuilt in the 11th year of the reign of Zhizheng in the end of the Yuan Dynasty and renovated during the following Ming and Qing dynasties. The land gate consists of double gates, one inside and the other outside, with city walls forming a square terrace of about 20 meters long on each side. The Auspicious Light Pagoda, land Gate, water gate and Wumen Gate Bridge are the key cultural relics under Province, city and State Protection. In recent years, the old city wall were mended and many scenic sites are were built, such as double pavilions bridge and waterfall cave. It has become a special historic and cultural place of interest of Suzhou.

- From Remin Bridge Dock: walk west 200 meters through Xier Road after cross Renmin Road
