Facing the Yellow Sea, Laoshan Mountain is located in the northeast end of Qingdao City, Shandong Province. It is one of China's first major scenic resorts to receive the approval of the State Council, also a national 4A level tourist area. The tall and majestic Laoshan Mountain is famous for its marvelous mountainous scenery and coastal landscape. It also holds significant importance in Taoism. Mountain Laoshan is the most recognized mountain of all mountains on the coast of China. As the most famous mountain on the coast Laoshan Mountain caters well for tourists. Three lines lead the visitors to 220 scenic spots including historical and natural points of interest. Among all the famous Chinese mountains it is the only one that shoots up directly from the seaside. The coastline around Laoshan Mountain extends 87 kilometers. The coastline is dotted with 18 islands, forming a marvelous view. Walking along the stone board path up to the mountain, one will find blue sea at one side while pine and stones on the other side.

Laoshan Mountain falls within temperate maritime climate with the annual average temperature of 12.6℃. The summer temperature is lower than the inland because of the influence of ocean and the average temperature is 24℃. It is neither cold in winter nor hot in summer, is a travel spot and summer resort.
