Marshal Nie Rongzhen Memorial Hall lies in western suburb of Jiangjin District, against Yiding Mountain, faces Yangtze River. Its main buildings adopt the ingenious conceive of combing and museum into a body, the 36-meter-high stele erects highly in the center of the main museum symbolizing the soaring rocket and Marshal Nie Rongzhen’s great contribution to our defense and technology causes.
It consists of the main hall and bronze square, covering about 20 mu, the square is wide and flat and two groups of huge relieves row on the left and right side respectively and the bronze of Marshal Nie stands in the center.
The main hall is composed of sequent hall, exhibiting hall, the simulated office and living room of Nie Rongzhen, the satellite launching showing hall and so on, displays altogether nearly 300 photos, over 400 pieces of cultural relics and historic materials, the inscriptions and books of leaders’, nearly ten thousand collecting books of Nie Rongzhen and so on, reveals vividly the growing process, battle experience and great contribution to the party and people.
It also exhibits the advanced armaments shown in the parade of the fiftieth anniversary of the build of our country, Long March Serial Rockets and so on. The most particular is the show of the lunching of satellites showing Xichang satellite lunching center scene.
