[edit] Description

The ruins of Longquan lie in the commune of Bohai (Ning'an district), about 300km/190mi southeast of Harbin. At one time Longquan was the capital of the kingdom of Bohai, which was founded by the Manchurians in 698 but laid waste by another tribe in 926, when Longquan was also almost completely razed to the ground. All that now remains are some sections of the walls, a few stone buildings and sculptures. The Enamel Well (Liuli Jing), used only by the king and noble personages, is of interest.
