The Shenyang Imperial Palace is one of the two existing palace complexes in China (the other one is the famous Forbidden City in Beijing).

The palace is composed by three sections: the eastern section, the middle section and the western section. Each section has its own unique characters and features.

The Shenyang Imperial Palace houses many ancient cultural relics, including Nurhachi's sword and Abahai's broadsword. There are also many paintings, calligraphy, pottery, sculptures, lacquer ware, and other artworks displayed here.

The construction of the palace started in 1625 by Nurhachi, and was finished in 1636 by his son Abahai (Huangtaiji). Both Nurhachi and Abahai were the founding emperors of the Qing Dynasty.
