The Square Youth Hostel. Located about a 10 minute drive south from Xi'an's South Gate this youth hostel is much fancier than an American or European might expect. The rooms are clean, some come with private bath/shower others are communal. (Private rooms may have western style toilets.) The bus ride out from the hostel is about an hour and a half and guided tours are given in English from the hostel for 360RMB (Oct 2008).
