Dafeng Elk National Natural Protection Area is on the beach of Yellow Sea, built in 1986 and covering an area of 40 thousand mu, which is the largest elk protection area in the world. In the center of the area, an education base for publicizing popular science including animal protection, eco-tourism and science research. The base is 300 mu.
Chinese Elk Park in the protection area is the world's first and largest wild elk Park Of returning nature. At present, there are 1000 sorts of elk; the total wild species number, reproductive rate and survival rate ranked first in the world. In this vast beautiful pure land, elks and another more than 1,800 kinds of wild animals and plants constitute a primitive, singular wetland landscape. Gatehouse, sculptures, Wang Lu Ting, leisure kiosks, Taigong kiosks, Xianren Bridge, Qu Corridor and other electronic teaching Hall and Deer Farm, has been opened to public.

Yancheng belongs to subtropical zone to temperate zones with obvious maritime warm monsoon climate. A mild climate with four distinct seasons, abundant sunshine, there are moderate rainfall. Four Seasons are suitable for traveling. The best months for traveling in elk garden are May and June which are the seasons for competition of Elk King.
