Airport Fees
From ChinaTravelGuide
Airport fee (Airport construction fee, to be exact) in China is collected and used as a government funding to improve the aviation system in China. 50% of the fee is handed in to the central government while the rest is distributed to the airport. The fee is 90 yuan for international flights, 50 yuan for domestic flights and 10 yuan for branch flight routes. See today's exchange rate for today's rate. The airport fee has been included in the airfare (listed as TAX on the ticket) since September 1, 2004.
According to CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China), passengers under the following four conditions are exempted from paying airport construction fee:
- International Passenger in transit through domestic airports.
- Diploma passport holders taking flights to leave Mainland China.
- Children under 12 (including 12).
- Domestic transition flights within 8 hours of interval to the next flight.
